Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler from the Wachau and Erich Krutzler from the Burgenland founded their own wine estate in the Wachau in 2006. Both husband and wife originated from famous wine-making families. Together, they craft wines of great soul and individuality, based on a respect form nature and sustainable viticultural practice.
The Pichler-Krutzler wines are pure, unadulterated and made without compromise to quality. Each wine is the reflection of its own terroir, harvested, raised and bottled without blending. Since there is no chaptalization, no juice concentration, no fining or additives of any sort, all the wines express their origins plain and clear. Just high-grade handcraft without any fancy trends.

Ried (Single Vineyard) Kellerberg is one of Wachau’s most renowned single vineyards. Vines are carefully tended on southeast-facing stone terraces, rooted in orthogneiss soils. Cool night breezes from the Flickental extend the growing season, leading to late harvests. This unique microclimate produces wines of both refinement and power—restrained yet alluring, full-bodied yet savory, always layered with remarkable depth.

The 2016 Ried Kellerberg has a deep, concentrated and aromatic bouquet of perfectly ripe and stewed stone-fruits (peaches, apricots), green paprika, apples, pears and herbs along with dusty, flinty notes of crushed stones. Full-bodied, round and elegant, this is a perfectly balanced and gorgeously aromatic Kellerberg with lush fruit, delicate acidity, very fine tannins and stimulating salinity on the pure and refined finish.
