Domaine Georges Roumier was founded in 1924 and is based in the village of Chambolle‑Musigny. Today, it is run by the third generation, Christophe Roumier, whose winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for terroir and allowing the grapes to express themselves naturally. The estate is renowned for precision, balance, and remarkable aging potential, and gained wider fame after Les Amoureuses was celebrated as the “First Apostle” in the manga The Drops of God.

Clos de la Bussière is Roumier’s Premier Cru monopole in Morey‑Saint‑Denis, covering about 2.59 hectares. The vineyard has deep soils rich in red clay mixed with limestone fragments, providing excellent drainage. The heavy clay lends the wine a muscular structure and power. As a result, its style differs from the finesse of Chambolle‑Musigny, instead reflecting the robust, earthy, and iron‑tinged character typical of Morey‑Saint‑Denis. Clos de la Bussière stands out as the most firmly structured and vigorous wine in Roumier’s portfolio.
