酒莊於1731年由Michel Bouchard於布蒙(Beaune)成立,可說是布爾岡其中一家歷史最悠久的葡萄酒莊。為了在Côte d'Or建立一個非凡的酒莊,他們於19世紀及20世紀初,收購了不少優秀的村莊。如今酒莊坐擁130公頃的葡萄園,12個特級園(Grand Cru),74個一級園(Premier Cru)。
18世紀的美國總統湯瑪斯·傑佛遜是一位葡萄酒鑑賞家,非常鍾愛這個一級園。1955 年,Lavalle博士將 Les Gouttes d'Or 的地塊視之為高質的「佳釀」(Tete de cuvee),完善了 Meursault Premier Crus 的優良系列。

Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy, perpetuating tradition for 9 generations.  The desire to build up an exceptional estate in Côte d’Or and acquisitions in the best Villages throughout the 19th century and early 20th century. Today the estate boasts 130 hectares of vines, 12 are classed Grand Cru and 74 classed as Premier Cru.
In the 18th century, the President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, a connoisseur of wines, was bery fond of this appellation. Classified "Tete de cuvee" in 1955 by Dr Lavalle, the Climat of Les Gouttes d'Or completes the fine range of Meursault Premiers Crus on the Bouchard Pere & Fils estate.

Vinification: 
Manual harvest in small cases. Mature in French oak for 9 -10 months, with up to 15% new oak, and for 3-4 months in stainless steel vats. The cellars located in the Bastions of the ancient Château de Beaune offer ideal ambient conditions. 

Tasting Notes:

A pretty though decidedly ripe nose is comprised by notes of mineral reduction, essence of pear and a suggestion of acacia. There is fine detail to the energetic larger-scaled flavors that are shaped by citrus-tinged acidity on the nicely dry and refreshing finish. This needs to develop more depth but overall, this is a quality effort as Gouttes d'Or can often be heavy and plodding in very warm vintages, but such is not the case here.
