Cardhu, the name from the Gaelic term of 'black rock', but it has produced premium whisky with silky texture, a pure and warm taste.
It is the first distillery to be officially pioneered by women, Helen Cumming and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Cumming. They were treasured for their determination, skill, generosity, and loyalty to the community, forever defining Cardhu as a whisky with heart. These whiskies are created with smooth, sweet, mellow characters, drawn from the peat-softened waters of the Mannoch Hills. Cardhu was the first distillery to partner with John Walker & Sons.

Tasting Notes:
Nose:
‘Natural’, rich, balanced and very complex. Macerated fruits; pears, plums, cherries. Hints of pineapple develop a light, green, gooseberry-like edge. Delicate scents of wild rose, menthol and polished leather rise above a soft base of Christmas cake or buttery pastry.
Palate:
Rich and smooth-textured. A smooth and sweet taste, unctuous, yet with light and lively acidity. The soft, delicate, fruity core is cradled by rich, chocolate-edged flavours. Warming overall, it’s softer with water, when the balance of tastes remains the same, though lighter.
Finish:
Exciting and complex, the conclusion is long, smooth, gently drying and rich in cocoa.
